Secure PT is a non-profit initiative that helps outpatient physical therapy clinics choose safe, compliant, and clinically effective telehealth platforms. Built from a comprehensive review of federal regulations, security standards, and PT practice guidelines, Secure PT provides an evidence-based evaluation framework, side-by-side platform comparisons, and open-access tools to support informed decision-making in virtual care.
This project is grounded in a comprehensive research paper that serves as the foundational work behind the SecurePT Telehealth Evaluation Guideline. Drawing from federal regulations, cybersecurity frameworks, and professional PT standards, the paper develops a structured, evidence-based model for evaluating telehealth platforms across compliance, security, workflow, and clinical domains. The guideline, tools, and platform comparisons featured on this website are direct extensions of that academic work.
The Telehealth Evaluation Guidelines provide a structured, evidence-based way for outpatient physical therapy clinics to assess telehealth platforms. Organized into four domains—Compliance, Cybersecurity, Workflow/Administrative, and Clinical Alignment—the guidelines help clinics choose platforms that are secure, compliant, and clinically effective.
